  • Listen to it with a guest/prospect, whether in person or over the phone. You can eat or fix dinner while it plays. Then discuss what they most liked about what they just heard.

Business Building Tip:
Target your products and services to those who have a specific interest or need that they are seeking to meet. In a conventional ground war of a century ago, the generals would say--"Do not fire until you see the whites of their eyes." None of us like war--yet we can learn from such advice. In other words, GET SPECIFIC with THE TARGET. Discover what others are presently looking for. Then offer that specific person your product or service. When you match what someone is looking for with your product and service, you will find a win-win almost every time. I was being introduced to someone in Africa today, I wrote the following to introduce myself. I happen to know that this person leads a professional group of women. I said,
      "I am a business partner with ____________--in RCB    We are looking for leaders to partner with and ________ believes that you would benefit from working with us. We would like to assist you in reaching your business and professional goals. I’d like to add you on Skype. ___________
 Evaluate:  
  1. The quick note to connect states who I am and associates me with someone the prospect knows.
  2. It identifies our actions as focused on leaders--and this person is one. 
  3. Emphasis is on how the prospect can benefit. (Remember-others make buying decisions for their reasons and not for yours. Your job is to discover their interest and connect a benefit or solution to it.)
